Plans are already being made for the C4C 2010 programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Specifically, the programs will focus on Butembo Central Prison and one village near Lukanga Adventist University. Trip Duration July 13 – August 18, 2010 (includes travel time, but arrangements can be made for shorter travel if needed) Expected Activities: Budget: $12,000 a. 2evangelistic meetings Possible Contribution a. In january 2009, we launched a brand new project of buying one goat for the orphans in the village of Rwese, east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This project teachers these young orphans (a) a sense of responsibility and business and (b) a spirit of sharing. 1. Each goat costs $50 (please sponsor an orphan)2. When the goat gives birth to the first kid, the orphan gives it the firstbor to another child (sharing) 3. The rest of the kids that come after that one become the property of the orphan (business) 4. In the long run, the orphan can start selling some of his/her own goats (income, responsibility) Come back soon for the first pictures of the children who have already received their goats |
